The Bijou Fountain Pen - Ambrosia Indulgence
Majestic elegance in drawing and writing!
Studio Observations
The Bijou Fountain Pen – Ambrosia Indulgence from Ferris Wheel Press, feels special from the moment you open it. The sturdy box itself is beautiful, with foil-embossed details that make it feel like a thoughtful presentation rather than just ordinary packaging. It also comes with a soft black velvet pen case that’s protective and easy to carry in a purse or tote, which I really appreciate.
The pen is lovely in person. The maroon sparkle has a rich depth to it, and paired with the gold details, it gives the pen an elegant, almost jewel-like look. The gold brass grip section is especially striking. The embossed design is intricate and catches the light in a way that makes it feel truly special when you write and draw with it.
In hand, it strikes a nice balance. It isn’t heavy, but it also has enough weight to feel comfortable and steady while writing. I used it for journal writing with floral and botanical drawings, and it handled both beautifully. I also liked that it didn’t roll off my desk, as the lid has subtle flat edges that keep it in place, which is thoughtful detail in the pen's design.
The two-tone No. 5 steel nib is smooth and reliable, as it glides easily across the page and doesn’t skip, which makes a big difference. Writing felt effortless, and the ink flow stayed consistent and fluid throughout. It was also easy to fill, which is always a plus for me. The inclusion of a standard international converter is also a welcome choice, allowing flexibility with ink selection.
Overall, the Bijou Fountain Pen combines beauty with function. It’s not just nice to look at, but it is genuinely enjoyable to use, whether for writing or drawing.
