Everyday Ink | La Belle Epoque Collection - Porcelain Past 38ml

Calm and quiet reflections in ink â€‹

This ink has a soft, pastel blue tone that immediately creates a calm, dreamy feeling. Rather than a bold or highly saturated blue, it appears light and muted on the page, giving it a gentle, airy quality. The color reminds me of a pale sky or distant rain clouds, which makes the name “Nimbus blue” feel just right. I found myself wanting to create a floral, artistic piece, as painting with ink is what I am drawn to.

Although meant for writing, I used it to paint a small vase of flowers, as I often gravitate toward botanical subjects. The delicate blue worked beautifully for light washes and subtle shading, spreading softly across the paper and forming abstract, cloud-like patterns that captured the “nimbus” feeling of the ink.

For writing, the ink is light in color and longer passages could possibly be harder to read in comparison with darker or more saturated inks. However, it's versatile and can be enjoyed for artwork, decorative journaling, and short notes.

The presentation is also a highlight. The foil embossed box features intricate ornamental designs and images of porcelain-style plates with delicate blue patterns and motifs, echoing the color of the ink itself. The overall look feels elegant and refined, giving the packaging a graceful, vintage-inspired character.

Overall, this ink stands out for its delicate color, artistic charm, and beautifully designed presentation. It’s a lovely choice for anyone who enjoys painting, journaling, or simply appreciating the softer side of fountain pen inks.
